Process & Fees

Process

Today’s investment world is full of data and jargon, which can lead to confusion and a sense of being so overwhelmed that there is a tendency to do nothing. With our expertise, we have a set of easy steps to ensure you get the best from your money to enable you to live the life you want.

For further details, see our Client Agreement and Service Proposition documents linked at the bottom of this page.

Listening

We listen to you so we fully understand what is important in your life now and in the future. We want to know exactly what your goals and aspirations are so we can put a plan in place to achieve them.

Appraising

We analyse your existing investment/pension portfolio to determine if it can meet the goals that you have set. Through our appraisal, we are able to fully understand the level of risk you are prepared to take in achieving your goals.

Forecasting

Although equity markets are unpredictable, it is important to look at historical performance to understand how different asset classes react to varying economic and political situations. In the short term, it is important to have a view of the economic and political landscape in order to position the portfolio correctly. By spreading the investments across different asset classes, this provides risk management and diversification. Why take high levels of risk if there is no need to do so?

Investment Selection

We advise you on where to invest your money so that it meets your attitude to risk and asset allocation.

Regular Reviews and Appraisals

It is imperative that the portfolio is regularly reviewed to take into account any changes in your goals, risk tolerance or short-term forecasting.

Fees

Hicks and McNish have a clear and transparent fee structure. All of our fees are agreed in advance and we do not charge an hourly rate.

For further details, see our Client Agreement and Service Proposition documents linked at the bottom of this page.

Introductory Meeting

We offer everyone a free-of-charge introductory meeting. At this meeting, you can decide if our service meets your needs and, if it does, we will provide you with details of our fees specific to your case.

Initial Fees

This is a fixed fee for creating your financial plan or dealing with a specific area of financial planning.

Ongoing Fees

To provide successful financial planning, it is important to monitor and review your plan and the investments. We agree an annual fee, which can be paid directly or from the investment portfolio.
